We would write a story about this initiative - but this letter kinda sums it all up perfectly:

To the team from Family Adventures, Glenn, Corinne, Anette, Zenon, Etienne and whoever else we may not know about.
Thank you for putting such a great ride together on Sunday.
The routes are always fun - well marked and your team is always so friendly and helpful. This year, the rain brought some mud and settled the dust nicely.
The ride is always great - but there is an even more important reason that our family does not miss this one.

Seeing the people at the Sunfields home always touches our hearts.
(Near the Fortuna resort is the Sunfields home, a sanctuary for people with mental disabilities.)
Part of our entry is to bring along gifts for the home. The generousity of the people of Gauteng is very touching - we take along a few small things, but we saw people offloading bakkies full of towels and linen, piles of foodstuff, electrical appliances and all sorts. The mountain of gifts and things that are donated every year is quite something to see - and one comes to appreciate just how lucky we are as a family.
From our family to yours - a big thank you. We feel priveliged to be a small part of such a huge charity drive. To anyone who has not been on this ride - put it on your calendar for next year - you will find that it really puts things into perspective.

Here are a few of the rides that we have planned for 2012:

Lesotho, Swaziland, Mafikeng, Wakkerstroom, Van Reenens,  Pongola…

27^th January: Time for our annual Waterberg Mountain Ride just north of Pretoria, if you are keen on a proper bushveld ride, this one is for you…

12^th January – Valentines Day ride, details TBA…

 24^th Febuary: Wakkerstroom – a beautiful little town in the middle of nowhere and the riding is nothing short of spectacular – with a mixup of technical and family riding to make you all smile…

March 3rd: We’ll be doing the Cosmos day ride, Saturday for dirtbikes and quads, Sunday for the big Dual purpose adventure bikes.  And then we’ll head up to Graskop for a weekend in the forests on the 30th.

April 27th: long Weekend at Black Mountain Hotel… awesome place, awesome national race route, huge fun.

May 13^th – a day ride in or around the JHB area – probably on the East rand. 25^th, a luxury weekend away at the stunning Komati Gorge with some excellent new routes planned… a smaller weekend – first come, first served.

June 15th: Tri Nations Ride, SA, Swaziland, Mozambique – guys – if you want to do this event, you have to book accommodation etc early… so drop us a mail and we will send you the relevant info. An awesome ride – then chill out on the beach for a few days…

July 6th : Mafikeng – great hotel – a really lekker ride… only a few hours from JHB – riverbeds, bushveld, you will love it… On the 28^th we’ll host a day ride in or around the Jhb area.

August the 9^th: A long weekend in Pongola – one day in the river, one day in the mountains, nothing better…

27^th September: JHB 2 Durban and Back in the Dirt… What a fantastic event, raising funds for the Quadpara Association of SA… Come and join the fun.

2^nd November: A weekend in beautiful Swaziland – or maybe Nelspruit just after the rains… we’ll keep you posted, but save the date.

30^th November: Watch this space…
