Quads 4 Quads 2009

September 2009 marked the 6th year of the Quads 4 Quads offroad motorcycle event running from Johannesburg to Durban - 1000 km of off-road riding raising funds for the QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA).

2009's event generated over
R1 million!

Family Adventures chose QASA as the beneficiary of this fundraising ride and over the last six years more than R5 million has been donated.

There is a great relationship between QASA & Family Adventures and the Quads 4 Quads event ensures that the members of QASA benefit from the projects delivered by QASA.

Hundreds of off-road enthusiasts participated in this awesome ride and made a difference to the lives of quadriplegics and paraplegics in South Africa.

The event was staged one way only this year starting in Johannesburg to Durban and finishing at Cane Cutters Inn.s

WHO IS QASA?

The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) is a non-profit organisation (NPO 000-881) which represents the needs of quadriplegics & paraplegics in South Africa.

QASA’s mission is to be an effective co-ordinating, policy-making and supporting organisation striving to prevent spinal cord injury and to promote and protect the interests of people with mobility impairments through advocacy, lobbying and delivery of services and products to people with disabilities.

QASA has approximately 6000 members, but represents a constituency of approximately 50 000 mobility-impaired persons in South Africa. The organisation has 8 provincial affiliates and is managed by a Management Committee of which 100% are persons with disabilities. QASA’s membership comprises 72% persons from previously disadvantaged groups (i.e. persons who did not have a franchise prior to the 1994 national elections).

The QuadPara Association of South Africa is proud to be a partner and beneficiary of this wonderful event. The off-road biking fraternity will Stand Tall in order to support the dreams and goals of quadriplegics and paraplegics in South Africa through QASA.

The funds that are raised through this event will go a long way towards assisting QASA in delivering necessary projects that will help quadriplegics and paraplegics, integrate into society and live meaningful lives. The association depends on events like QUADS 4 QUADS, in order to generate the resources to make a difference to the lives of its members. QUADS 4 QUADS is not a race. It is a family ride and an event that will change your life. It is an event which will challenge your stamina, and revive your soul.

At the end of the four days of riding, you will experience friendship and fun never felt before and most importantly, you will have been responsible for empowering and developing capacity for quadriplegics and paraplegics.
